A long-time favorite of kids and parents across the world, PLAYMOBIL consistently earns recognition as a leading creator of imaginative toys. In 2008, distinctions abounded for the new Circus and Horse Farm collections, among other PLAYMOBIL novelties.

Among multiple recognitions comes a first for PLAYMOBIL – a Toy of the Year (T.O.T.Y.) Award from the Toy Industry Association. The Horse Farm won the Girl Toy of the Year T.O.T.Y. Award at the 2009 International Toy Fair. The T.O.T.Y. Awards are designed to honor excellence in design, safety standards and play value.

PLAYMOBIL was also honored with three nods in 2008 from another of the industry’s most regarded experts – The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio. Founded in 1989, the organization bestowed Platinum honors on the Circus collection and Horse Farm and Gold to the Dino collection and Recycling Truck. As of 2007, companies must certify their toys have been independently tested and that each toy’s levels of phthalates and lead are below industry requirements, to be considered for the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio awards.

In addition to the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio and the Toy Industry Association, PLAYMOBIL was acknowledged by several other leading toy authorities, including: FamilyFun magazine, the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association (ASTRA), The National Parenting Center, Parents’ Choice and the iParenting Media Awards.

2008 PLAYMOBIL toy recognitions include the following:

• Circus Ring: PLAYMOBIL’s Circus Ring was recently selected as a Top 10 Toy of the Year (T.O.Y.) by FamilyFun Magazine and was also included in the Platinum designation awarded to the entire Circus line by the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio. Unveiled live on “Live with Regis & Kelly,” the Circus Ring features tightrope artists swinging under a magnificent tent. • Horse Farm: A young equestrian’s dream, the Horse Farm was the recipient of a Toy Industry Association T.O.T.Y. Award and the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio’s Platinum award. Sure to get to the heart of every young horse enthusiast, the set was also named an “Excellent Product” by the 2008 iParenting Media Awards and received the National Parenting Center’s Seal of Approval.
